The KGB Digital System Services LLC is a Bay Area-based, fully licensed, bonded, and insured contracting business built on over 30 years of experience in the union trades. Founded by Kevin Goodman, a licensed C-7 and C-10 electrical contractor, the business was formally established in 2019 — but the experience behind it goes back to 1996.
Kevin and his tight-knit team have spent decades working on some of the most complex fire alarm systems in Northern California, including projects for Kaiser, Stanford, and major commercial properties across the Bay Area. We specialize in fire alarm service, test & inspection, UL listing, and monitoring — serving multifamily housing, commercial properties, hotels, and pharmaceutical facilities.
As a California-licensed C-7 and C-10 contractor, we also offer commercial electrical services, IT services, and security and surveillance systems. We hold an FCC GROL license (AES) and serve as a certified dealer and technician for Siemens MXL/XLS and Potter electric fire panels. We use Building Reports for all test and inspection documentation, ensuring thorough and professional record-keeping for every client.
We’re not the company that powers a panel down, powers it back up, calls it fixed, and sends you a $3,000 invoice. We dig in, find the root cause, and fix it for good. We don’t cut corners — we’ve learned that short-term fixes become long-term headaches. And we don’t shy away from tough challenges. About the Owner - Kevin Goodman
Kevin Goodman, the owner and principal of The KGB Digital Service Systems LLC, is an experienced electrical and fire system specialist. Originally from the southern border of Arizona, with a degree from the University of Arizona, Kevin has more than 20 years of hands-on experience in fire alarm, security, IT, and electrical design and installation services in the San Francisco Bay Area.
A California state licensed electrical contractor, Kevin has served as a project manager, lead technician, and programmer for major commercial fire alarm projects at notable sites including SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, Yahoo.com, Kaiser Permanente, and Xilinx. His previous role as a Stationary Engineer for Kaiser Santa Clara involved maintaining fire alarm systems for multiple large-scale facilities and complex campuses in a highly regulated industry. He specializes in CCTV, access control, fire systems service testing, IT services, and regulatorily required permits, processes, and documentation.
When not working with clients, Kevin enjoys mountain biking, riding his motorcycle, working on his Subaru WRX, and giving truck rides to his dog, Lucky. And if you want to know how he came up with the company name, he’ll be glad to tell you!
